Pearly everlasting is a small perennial wildflower native to Asia and North America; found in sunny to part shade areas of dry, well drained soil. The plant is very cold hardy, tolerant of drought, salt, and poor soil conditions; a low maintenance perennial that can spread easily to fill in spaces. From June to September, corymbs of attractive pearl coloured bracts surround the yellow flower centers, resembling eggs with yoke centers. They attract pollinators like butterflies, bees and other beneficial insects. plants are either pollen bearing male plants, or seed bearing female ones; both differ slightly in colour. The elegant narrow bluish green leaves along with delicate papery white flowers make for perfect dried flower arrangements, one of the popular uses of pearly everlasting.
