About This Plant

Mackenzie willow is a large multi-stemmed shrub to small tree that can be found on waters edge, mountain valleys, and other wet areas of western North America. Its native range extents from Alaska down to California in the United States. Mackenzie willow can be similar in appearance to the pacific willow and others nearby, distinguished by it near water habitat, reddish brown twigs with blistering mature stems, fine red Petioles, with darkish leaves (paler underneath).
